ASSESSMENT PROCESSES

3.1 Applications
Applications for registration on the APEC Architect Register will be received and assessed by the Home Economy's Architectural Association.
3.1.1 Applicants who have previously been assessed as being eligible to practice independently, ie met the criteria outlined in 2.2.1 or 2.2.2, will usually require only a desktop assessment to ensure they meet the APEC Architect criteria. An applicant, in some circumstances, may be required to attend an interview.
3.1.2 All other applicants will be required to undergo and pass the Home Economy's Architectural Association professional review before their APEC Architect application would be considered.
3.1.3 All assessments relating to the Home Economy's APEC Architect Register will be conducted in English as the international language of architectural practice.
3.1.4 All APEC Architect applications will be assessed by APEC Architect assessors, accredited by the Home Economy's Monitoring Committee.
3.1.5 An appeals procedure is available for applicants who are assessed as not meeting the APEC Architect entry criteria.

3.2 Audit of APEC Architects
Audits will be conducted on persons on the Register.
. A CV, or a summary of work history for the last two years, to show that the APEC Architect had continued to work in their specified architectural discipline. The CV will need to be verified by another registered architect, who is a Member of the Home Economy's Architectural Association or the equivalent within another architectural body recognized for that purpose by the said association, or a Home Economy's
3.2.1 APEC Architects on the Home Economy's Register need to reapply for recognition as an APEC Architect every two years.
3.2.2 When applying for continuance on the APEC Register the following documentation must be submitted:

Registered Architect.
. A CPD summary form for the last two years to demonstrate compliance with the Home Economy's Architectural Association's CPD policy.
. An APEC Architect registration renewal fee, as set by the Home Economy's Monitoring Committee. APEC Architects will be given the opportunity to pay, in advance, an annual fee or a fee to cover a two-year period. An APEC Register certificate will be sent on payment of the fee. The certificate will show the name of the APEC Architect and the expiry date of the certificate.
3.2.3An APEC Architect assessor shall review the submission for compliance.
3.2.4An appeals procedure is available for architects who are assessed by the APEC Architect assessor as not complying with the APEC Architect criteria.
